Lorne Wall is a self-taught artist who was born in the Highlands of Cape Breton Island. Lorne was an illustrator and a cartoonist in California before moving to Calgary. Since completing the first bronze entitled “Bull Elk”, Lorne has completed 104 limited edition bronzes (of 18). Lorne’s bronze “Legend and Reality” won “Best of Show” and “Collectors Choice” awards in 1996 and 1997. Lorne has also won “Collectors Choice” award for “Buffalo Hunter” at the Calgary Stampede’s Western Art Show.
In 2000 he was chosen to design the annual Art Collectors Pin “Boots n’ Brushes”. His sculpture “Along the Fence Line” was chosen “Best of Show” in 2002. Lorne completed his first life-size sculpture in 2001, titled “The Constructor”. Calgary Construction Association is where it now stands.
Lorne currently resides in Clyde River, Shelburne County, NS. He plans to continue sculpting and spending more time on oil painting.
