Paul Chetwynd

20160505_3994_edited_smAs a young boy, Paul Chetwynd would carve his own toys. After retiring from his life as a surveyor several years ago, he began to dabble in his childhood love of drawing and carving. “It was mostly to combat boredom, I guess”, says Paul with a grin.

Paul started with native birds and fish as his subjects, but has since created pieces with bugs, butterflies, tropical fish and even roosters. All of his subjects are mounted in a setting fitting to their environment and with, of course, a bit of whimsy.

Paul currently lives in Shelburne, NS where he continues carving and painting his artwork.
